DOULA SERVICES / Postpartum Support

Postpartum Doula Services

Postpartum Doulas are expertly trained professionals who provide in-home care for your growing family. They offer much more than just baby care; they provide comprehensive care for the entire family during the crucial first days and weeks after welcoming a new baby. Studies have shown that having a strong support system in place can make this transition much easier for both parents and babies. Postpartum Doulas focus on nurturing the parents and “mothering the mother,” adopting a family-centered, community-oriented approach to caregiving. They take into account the physical, emotional, and practical needs of the entire family to ensure a smooth and stress-free start.

Services may include:

  • newborn care: baby wearing, diapering, bathing, feeding, & comforting
  • emotional and physical support
  • private yoga and breathwork sessions*
  • light tidying
  • sibling care and integration
  • nourishing snack and meal* preparation
  • referrals to local resources
  • errand runs

*potential additional cost services

Doula services

As your doula, my role is to support you and make you feel comfortable as you transition into your new role as a parent. I will hold space for you and care for you in whatever way that feels right to you as this is your journey. In a most perfect space, we will be able to connect prenatally and see if things feel right. My goal is for you to feel supported and to feel as though you have a community.

I offer a calm, nurturing presence in your home and provide guidance and encouragement during those precious first 6 weeks, so that you can nest, bond, heal, adjust, and integrate. I educate you on newborn care, baby wearing, soothing, and sleep so that you feel informed and capable of caring for and calming your baby.

Collective

The doulas in our doula collective have completed their doula training and attended less than 10 clients. They often draw from other experiences such as yoga training, lactation training and motherhood. They continue their training with workshops, mentor guidance and shadowing with experienced doulas who are on call to them as they become experienced doulas.
